Editorial Methodology

How MoneyPick Works

A transparent look at the 8 factors we use to evaluate your loan match, how we source lender data, and the editorial standards we hold ourselves to.

Important: Match scores are estimates, not approvals.

MoneyPick evaluates your profile against publicly stated lender eligibility criteria. A high match score means your profile aligns well with a lender's published thresholds — it does not guarantee that the lender will approve your application. Final credit decisions involve additional proprietary underwriting criteria applied solely by the lender.

The 8 Factors in Our Match Algorithm

These factors are derived from publicly available lender eligibility criteria.

Monthly Net Salary

Each lender sets a minimum net in-hand monthly salary threshold (typically Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 25,000+). We compare your reported salary against each lender's stated minimum.

Employer Category (Tier)

Lenders classify employers into Tier A (large listed corporates), Tier B (mid-cap companies), Tier C (SMEs), and Unlisted. Higher employer tiers typically unlock lower interest rates and higher loan amounts.

Employment Tenure & Status

Whether you are confirmed, on probation, recently switched jobs, or have only one salary slip directly affects which lenders will evaluate your application. We apply lender-specific tenure rules accordingly.

Debt-to-Income (FOIR)

Your Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio (FOIR) is estimated using your existing EMIs and the requested EMI. Lenders have their own FOIR thresholds; a lower FOIR generally improves eligibility with more lenders.

CIBIL Score Range

You self-report your approximate CIBIL score range. Lenders typically have minimum score thresholds (e.g., 650+, 700+, 750+). We filter out lenders whose minimum score requirement exceeds your reported range.

Available Documentation

Whether you have 1 or 3 salary slips, an offer letter, a relieving letter, or Form 16 affects which lenders can process your application. We match your document availability to each lender's stated requirements.

Requested Loan Amount

Each lender has minimum and maximum loan amount limits. Fintech NBFCs typically lend Rs. 10,000–Rs. 5 Lakhs, while banks may lend up to Rs. 30–40 Lakhs for eligible salaried applicants.

Salary Credit Mode

Lenders strongly prefer salary credited via bank transfer (NEFT/IMPS). Cash or cheque salary payments reduce the lender pool significantly, as digital lenders rely on bank statement parsing.

Our Data Sourcing Process

How we collect, verify, and maintain lender eligibility information.

01

Source Identification

We identify the official eligibility pages, loan product pages, and FAQs on each lender's own website as our primary source.

02

Manual Policy Review

Our team manually extracts minimum salary, employer category, tenure, FOIR, and document requirements from each lender's public materials.

03

Date Tagging

Every lender entry is tagged with the date the information was last verified. This date is shown on relevant pages (e.g., "Checked: Aug 2026").

04

Quarterly Review Cycle

We revisit all lender policies at a minimum every quarter, or sooner when a lender publicly announces rate changes or policy updates.

05

Conditions Disclosure

All rates and criteria are shown with a "Conditions apply" note. We never present interest rates as guaranteed quotes — only as indicative ranges from public sources.

What Our Match Engine Does NOT Do

  • Pull your CIBIL score, Experian, or any credit bureau report
  • Store your PAN card, Aadhaar number, or mobile number
  • Make binding credit approval or rejection decisions
  • Guarantee specific interest rates or loan amounts
  • Share your inputs with any lender before you choose to apply
  • Rank lenders based on referral commission rates
